American Oldsmobile

The Cutlass Supreme version of Oldsmobile General Motors was made for US market and it occupied the top position of the entire Cutlass range. It was primarily introduced as a trim package, was developed its own special roofline and ultimately was distinctly identified by its own entity distinctly different from small sized Cutlasses. The diva of Cutlass model was intact till 1997 since 1966 and ultimately the craze of this model was somehow minimized by introduction of Intrigue introduced by this company in the year 1988 and by look, performance, and other luxury elements it surpasses the popularity of cutlass although till date Cutlass is considered one of the most successful automobile launchings by General Motors.

The first version of Cutlass was introduced in 1966 and was more known as holiday sedan. Its hardtop was its unique feature and it came into four door version. In 1967 there were a few more versions of Cutlass supreme was introduced and in that range there were versions like two-door hardtop coupe, two-door pillar coupe, four-door pillared sedan, and a convertible version. With these new launches, the interior part of this car came to be introduced as more splash type and a vinyl notchback bench seat with armrest was included in these models.

The third version of cutlass was introduced in the year 1973 and in lieu of hardtop models colonnade was introduced in this car range. Cutlass Supreme coupe was extremely successful that time and it was considered as the best selling brand of US auto mobile market.

The fourth version of cutlass was introduced in the market in the year 1978 and this time the car, following other mid size traditions was downsized. The new version was the most popular version that time and it was known as Cutlass Salon Coupe. In 1980 Cutlass Supreme version was added with four headlights for better beauty and safety.
