Oldsmobile Toronado
The Toronado version of Oldsmobile automobile was produced between 1966 and 1992 and it was a two-door coupe. This car was of considerably significance because of its pioneering technology in introducing first-front-wheel drive in the US auto market for the first time.
Etymologically the name Toronado means sped of storm; however, the name of this car was not kept intentionally rather his name was chosen for one Chevrolet car baby. The launching of this huge model puts the cars like Ford Thunderbird and Buick Riviera, this car was considered as one of the luxurious personal cars introduced by Oldsmobile.

Structurally this car was similar to Buick Riviera by Ford, and Cadillac Eldorado, although both of the cars have some unique style factors. E-body platform, the specialty of Oldsmobile brand, was present in Toronado, but like Tornado, Buick Riviera did not introduce front-wheel drive until the model year of 1979.
The development plan of Toronado was expanded for 7 years and in this intermediate General Motors implemented various plans and features in the car to make it better performer as well a stylish road roller. The incorporation of designs is like this:
THM425 in FWD form was used in 3-speed automatic transmission. The flange gaskets formed spherical shaped exhaust manifold and for this type of exhaust manifold system, the free movement of the exhaust system as well as leak prevention is managed with optimum efficiency. 92 model Toronado was named as Trofeo.
Although these two cars were made by GM but as the age of coupe was over and above the consciousness for SUV was in its nascent stage, it was no good market for these cars, additionally fuel efficiency was not sup to the mark. In 1992, Gm replaced these two brands by Aurora.
