Oldsmobile Cutlass is the most favorite brand car of Oldsmobile brand that After General Motors took off the original company the name of Cutlass was kept unchanged When GM changed all version of Oldsmobile range they never dare to change the name Cutlass and improved versions were all introduced as a series model of Cutlass to retain the legacy of Cutlass, although the first version of Cutlass was an experimental sports coupe launched on 1954.

The first generation Cutlass was launched on 1956 and the style of the car was 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, 2-door hardtop, and 4-door station wagon. The car was made with FR layout, A-body platform, 3-speed Roto Hydramatic Engine and 3-peed manual. The break was of drum type and it was a lengthy sedan (4780mm). Second version of Oldsmobile Cutlass was an immediate one and was of same look but disc brake was introduced this time in Cutlass.

The third gen. Cutlass had an option for hardtop body, convertible body and notchback hardtop. The prime changes were front grill and tale lights that made the elegant look of the car more dramatic.

In 1973, the 4th generation models of cutlass were lunched and that time the models went through certain changes. This time the design was implemented in the shape and shade of  GM’s new A-platform of colonnade; his range of Cutlass is comprised of Cutlass supreme, Cutlass S, Vista Cruiser Station Wagon,  and Cutlass salon.

The 5th generation of Cutlass was consisted of Supreme Brougham and Cutlass Supreme coupes and sedans, Cruiser Brougham station wagons, Calais Coupes, and Cruiser.

The 6th generation Cutlasses was all about Cutlass badge and with Oldsmobile logo and these models were The A-Body Cutlass Ciera, the N-Body Cutlass Calais, The W-Body Cutlass Supreme, and the G-Special Cutlass Supreme Classic coupe.

In 1999, the production of Cutlass was officially topped and it was replaced by Alero. Later Alero were placed by Achieva.
